  5. mind about gay lives?" Traditional society has held stubbornly
  6. to its portrayal of homosexuals as irresponsible, sexually
  7. obsessed deviants, but it refuses to allow gay people the
  8. privileges that would enable them to lead peaceful and
  9. productive lives.
