- should spur many to ask, "Can't mainstream society make up its
- mind about gay lives?" Traditional society has held stubbornly
- to its portrayal of homosexuals as irresponsible, sexually
- obsessed deviants, but it refuses to allow gay people the
- privileges that would enable them to lead peaceful and
- productive lives.
